FFCS is a founding member of the National Vintage Formula Formula Ford Association (NVFFA), which was formed to develop and manage fair engine regulations that maintain the integrity and spirit of Vintage Formula Ford racing in North America.  For more information on the evolution of the engine certification process and NVFFA click here.

• To begin, please download and read TB-011(Engine Certification) for a summary of the need for certification and an implementation timeline.

• Download and read the RMVR Inspection Process document, developed by Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing to provide a simple way of ensuring critical compliance elements, relating to valvetrain and compression.

• To verify camshafts are compliant with NVFFA rules we provide an Excel file on Cam Lobe Plotting and a PDF graph of the legal cam profile.

• A compression ratio calculator is provided for FF engines, which serves both home engine builders and professionals alike, as difficult-to-measure values  - spark plug chamber volume and valve head protrusion - are standardized.

• Every engine build from 2026 onward should be accompanied by the NVFFA Engine Certification Form
